In Magento 2, when you create a grouped product, you basically add simple and virtual products to the group. You can also add simple products with custom options to grouped products. Basically, custom options provide some additional choices to the customer for which they pay some additional price. In this article, you will learn to create a simple product with custom options and add it to a grouped product.
Step 1: Create a Simple product with custom options
1: Firstly, log in to your admin panel and navigate to Catalog > Products.
2: Click the arrow-down beside the Add Product button and select Simple Product. This opens a new product page.
3: Enter a name for the product in the Product Name field. Also, provide the SKU, Price, and other details for the product.
4: Then, scroll down to the Customizable Options section and expand it.
5: Here, click the Add Option button and provide a title and specify the option type.
6: Thereafter, click the Add Value button and provide fill in the field with the correct information. Also, you can add more values by clicking the Add Value button again and again.
7: Finally when completed, save the product.
Now, you have created a simple product with custom values. The product is ready to be added to the grouped product.
Step 2: Create a grouped product and add the simple product to it
After creating the simple product with custom options, let’s create a grouped product and add them to it.
1: Again, navigate to Catalog > Products.
2: Now, click the arrow down beside the Add Product button and select Grouped Product.
3: Fill in the Product Name, SKU, and other fields with appropriate data.
4: Then, scroll down to the Grouped Products section and expand it.
5: Thereafter, click the Add Products to Group button and select different simple and virtual products along with the simple product with custom options that you created earlier.
6: And then, click the Add Selected Products button.
7: Finally, Save the product.
Now, open the frontend of your store. Select the grouped product that you created from its respective category. And then, check the product by adding it to the cart.
