To create a sales channel in shopware 6, Please follow the below steps.

Step 1: Log in to the admin panel and click the Plus symbol of the sales channels on the right side of the menu.

Step 2: After clicking on the plus symbol, you can choose whether you want to create a new Sales Channel with an HTML storefront or a headless sales channel that only provides an API interface. You can also create a product comparison here. I am going to create a sales channel on the HTML storefront.

Step 3: On the “General Settings” section, fill in the required fields.

  1. Name: Enter the name of your sales channel. It is used internally at all places where you can store settings for this sales channel.
  2. Entry point main navigation: Select the options where the main menus begin. Note you cannot select categories of the type “customizable link” or “structuring element”.
  3. Navigation Levels: Enter the number of levels to be displayed below the currently selected level in the main menu.
  4. Entry point footer Navigation: Select the footer content which is displayed in the storefront footer section.
  5. Entry point service Navigation: You can specify the level at which the Service Navigation should start.
  6. Customer group: Select a customer group for your sales channel and to create a customer group click here.
  7. Countries: Select the country that will be available in your sales channel and select a default country.
  8. Languages: Select the languages that will be available for your sales channel and select a default language.

Step 4: On to the next section, “Payment and shipping”.

  1. Payment methods: Select the payment methods which is available in your sales channel and select the default payment method.
  2. Shipping methods: Select the shipping methods which is available in your sales channel and select the default shipping method.
  3. Currencies: Select the currencies which are available in your sales channel and select the default currency.
  4. Tax calculation: Choose how taxes should be calculated for orders in your sales channel. There are two options available under the Tax calculation.
    1. Line by line (horizontal) calculation: VAT is calculated for each shopping cart position. During checkout, each position’s individual VAT is displayed. The total VAT amount is calculated by adding up all individual VAT values.
    2. Column by column (vertical) calculation: VAT is calculated from the order total. No individual VAT values are displayed during checkout.

Step 5: In the “Hreflang” section. The Hreflang metatag is important if there are several language versions of your shop. The hreflang metatag is used to uniquely assign content to a language. Google explicitly shows the respective languages in their search results.

After you have activated the option, all your domains are displayed in the drop-down menu.

Step 6: In the “Domain” section. You have to add the shop domain.

  1. URL: You have to select the domains that are stored under Settings > System > Domains.
  2. Language: Select the language of the shop which should be called using this URL.
  3. Currency: Select the currency which should be used when calling the shop using this URL.
  4. Snippet set: Choose the snippet which should be used in your shop.
  5. Hreflang localization: The localization for the hreflang attribute should be done. This allows you to send the correct translations to e.g. Google when using multiple languages in your shop.
    1. Localization by ISO standard:- The localization is done via the exact ISO. Eg: if you use different (country-specific) language variants that may use their own country-specific terms (e.g. in English or French)
    2. Localization according to language:- Localization is only done via the language. Here, several countries of destination are addressed via the output language

After filling, all the information to the respected fields save the sales channel and your sales channel will be shown on the frontend.
