A password is a string of some specific characters or symbols that a user need to provide to gain access of a program, service or account. We use a password as an authentication for identifying the original user and prevent unauthorized access. Passwords can be easy or difficult and can contain a mixture of letters, numbers, and special characters. It is important to create a strong and unique password and users must change their password time to time for protecting their accounts and information. There are different methods for users that can use to generate password for a Salesforce ORG.
To Generate Password for a Salesforce ORG, follow these steps:
Step-1: First of all, click on the gear icon in the top right corner of your Salesforce dashboard and then, select “Setup” from the dropdown to open the setup page.
Step-2: Then, in the Quick Find box type “users” and select “Users” from the results. This will open the user page that displays a list of users for this Salesforce ORG.
Step-3: Then, from the Users page, select the user for which you want to generate a password. This will open the user’s detail page.
Step-4: Further, click the “Reset Password” button on the user’s detail page. Thereafter, this will navigate to the “Change Your Password” page.
Step-5: Furthermore, on the “Change Your Password” page, enter a new password in the “New Password” field. Then, re-enter the same password in the “Confirm Password” field to confirm your new password.
Step-6: Finally, Click on “Change Password” to generate the new password for your Salesforce ORG.
It is important to acknowledge that Salesforce has created several password policies aimed for ensuring the safety of passwords. These password policies include certain criteria like password length, complexity, and expiration. You may check and modify your Salesforce ORG password policies via Setup > Security > Password Policies.
