Create an Object using Salesforce Schema Builder:

To use Schema Builder to add a custom object to your schema, follow these steps:

Step-1: Firstly, open the Schema Builder page in your Salesforce ORG.

Step-2: Then, Click the “Elements” tab from the left sidebar of the page.

Step-3: In addition, drag the “Object” and drop it in the canvas. This opens the “Create New Object” dialog box.

Step-4: In the dialog box that appears, fill up the fields with the respective information like Label, Plural Label, Object Name, Record Name, Data Type, etc.

Step-5: Besides, you can also allow Reports, Activities, and track Field History as per your need.

Step-6: Finally, click the “Save” button to create the object. Now, this object appears on the canvas of the schema builder page.

Create a field using Salesforce Schema Builder:

To use Schema Builder to add a custom field to your schema, follow these steps:

Step-1: Firstly, open the Schema Builder page in your Salesforce ORG.

Step-2: Then, click the “Clear All” link from the left sidebar of the page.

Step-3: Thereafter, check the object for which you want to create a new field.

Step-4: Now, Click the “Elements” tab from the left sidebar of the page.

Step-5: Then, choose a data type for the field and then, drag it on the object you selected for creating a field. This opens the “Create Field” dialog box.

Step-6: In the dialog box that appears, fill up the fields with the respective information like Field Label, Field Name, etc.

Step-7: Besides, you can also make the field “Required“, and “Unique“, and set an “External Id” as per your need.

Step-8: Finally, click the “Save” button to create the field for the selected object. Now, this field will appear on the object present on the canvas.
