How to create promotion in shopware 6?

The promotion helps you to create a discount action for your sales channel. You can create rules to set up restrictions for the promotions, as well as limit the promotion to a certain time. To create a promotion in Shopware 6 follow the below steps.

Step1: Login to the admin panel and go to the Marketing > Promotions option.

Step 2: Click on the “Add promotion” button to create a new one.

Step 3: Fill in the information fields of General settings.

  1. Name: Enter the name of the promotion.
  2. Valid from: Select the date to start the promotion.
  3. Valid until: Select the date to end the promotion.
  4. Max. total uses: Add the total number of uses for this promotion.
  5. Max. uses per customer: Add the total number of uses one customer can use.
  6. Active: you can enable or disable this promotion by clicking on the switch button.

Note: “New promotion” is displayed in the system default language. Always maintain new data in your chosen system default language.

Step 4: After filling, all the fields, click on the Save button.

Step 5: After clicking on the Save button, the Promotion codes option is enabled you can set the promotion code if you want.

Step 6: There are three different code options are available in the Code options section.

  1. No promotion code required: It can be used by all the users who buy the products.
  2. Fixed promotion code: You can set the promotion code. So that the user has to add the code to apply the discount on the product.

3. Individual promotion codes: Promotion codes are generated randomly from capital letters and numbers. You may add fixed individual terms as a prefix and/or suffix or use a completely custom pattern and watch how your code pattern turns out in the promotion code preview.

  1. Prefix: This will be added before the code. Eg:- SW
  2. Code length: Character length of the promotion code.
  3. Suffix: This will be added after the promotion code.
  4. Use custom pattern: It defines the pattern according to which the codes are to be structured. This can be both fixed letters and numbers as well as random characters stored by the system. To insert a random letter (A-Z), store %s, for a random number (0-9) %d. In our example, the custom pattern looks like this: SW-%s%d%s%d%s-TEST
  5. Promotion code preview: You can see your promotion code in this section.
  6. A number of promotion codes: you can set the number of your promotion code.

Step 7: Click on the “Generate new codes” button. It will automatically generate the promotion codes.

Step 8: Now go to the Discounts section to add a discount on this promotion which we created on the above steps.

Step 9: Click on the “Add Discount” button to create a discount on the products.

  1. Apply to: You can choose where do you want to set a discount. On the Shopping cart, on the shipping costs, on the entire product set.
  2. Apply to specific range of products only: You can specify that the discount is only applied to certain products. If you activate this option, the fields Product rules, Apply to, and Sort by are also available.
  • Product rules: In this way, it is possible to break down the discount promotion even further to specific products. Eg:- If you add some product to the shopping cart then the condition is met as soon as there is a product in the shopping cart.
  • Apply to: In the event that there are several products for which a discount is granted. Eg:- a discount is only granted for every second/third/ninth product.
  • Sort by: If there are several products on which a discount can be granted, the products to be discounted are sorted by price in ascending or descending order.

3. Type: You can specify whether the discount should be an absolute discount, a percentage discount or a fixed price, or a fixed unit price.
4. Value: Enter the value of discount on how much discount you want to set on the products.
5. Maximum discount value: Enter the maximum discount value in this field.
6. Open advanced prices view: You can set the value of the discount for each currency individually.

Step 10: After filling, all the required fields, click on the Save button to save all the processes.

Note: Clear the cache and check on the storefront of the cart.

Step 11: Click on the “Add to shopping cart” button.

Step 12: Enter the promotion code which we generated on the above steps.

Step 13: After entering the promotion code the discount will be shown on the off-canvas shopping cart or shopping cart page.
