B2B customers can apply for a Company account by submitting a Company account application from the storefront. The form will ask the customers to provide the information of the Company admin user along with the Company name and contact details. The Sellers can approve the Company account in the BigCommerce B2B Edition control panel. After approval of the application, a company account will automatically be created for the B2B customers.
To apply for the Company account in BigCommerce B2B Edition, follow these steps:
1. On the storefront, go to the login page.
2. Click the Create Account button to navigate to the registration page and select the Business Account type.
3. Fill in the contact information for the Company admin user, like Firstname, Lastname, Email, Phone, etc., and Continue.
4. Then, fill out the Business details and the address of the Company, and continue.
5. Set the password and confirm it. If there is any reCaptcha, then check the reCaptcha checkbox.
After you submit the application, your company account will be pending for internal review. You cannot log in to the Buyer Portal unless a Sales staff member has approved your Company account. When you try to log in, the Buyer Portal will display a message to inform you that your account is pending approval.
Once the application is submitted, the configured Sales staff will receive an email regarding the Company account request. Your Company account will appear in the Companies area with a Pending status in the B2B control panel. To approve or reject a pending account, the Sales staff will open the company’s details. They will review the company’s details you submitted before choosing Approve or Reject at the top of the page.
Once they have approved or rejected, you will receive an email notification regarding your account’s approval or rejection. If the Seller has enabled the automatic approval, then your Company will be approved right after submission, and you will not need to wait for the approval to use the Buyer portal.
